More candidates are in the process of being acclaimed in the Bow River Riding for the 2025 Federal Election.

The deadline to apply for candidacy is Monday, April 7, with the election being held on April 28.

The Liberals officially have nominated Bentley Barnes as the party’s Bow River candidate.

The Green Party has put forward Jason McKee.

And the People's Party of Canada (PPC) have Calen Whitworth as their representative.

Little information is available about these candidates as profiles, contacts, and campaigns are still being set up in the midst of a snap election.

Bow River Conservative Member of Parliament Martin Shields announced he will not seek re-election earlier this year, leading Schlumberger vice-president David Bexte to take the Conservative candidacy position.

First-time candidate Louisa Gwin launched her candidacy with the NDP last month while Tom Lipp of the Christian Heritage Party threw his hat in the ring for a third time.

The past two elections in 2021 and 2019 also saw six candidates in the riding. The Conservatives won by an overwhelming 35,376 votes last election, with the PPC in second place with 5,108.
