BONNYVILLE – Bonnyville athlete Connor Woods brought home a national silver medal from the Canadian Indoor Track and Field Championships in Toronto.

On Jan. 21, the Town acquired the land containing golf holes 1, 2 and part of 3 from Qualico Developments West for $409,684.24.

Located in British Columbia about 87 kilometres west of Jasper, Alta., Mount Robson is the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies at 3,954 metres, with the south face having a vertical drop of over 3,000 metres.

"It was an amazing experience, and something I’ve been working at for my whole ski racing career and most of my life."

Construction is expected to resume in April once the frost melts and last for seven weeks until being completed in June.

The duo went on an impressive shred tour all over the province.

The celebrations included on-ice sessions, a banquet on Friday [Jan. 24] and a curling table set up outside as part of the Street Party, which concluded Jasper in January.

Wearing Jasper Bearcats jerseys, the U15 Canmore Eagles stood in solidarity with the wildfire-stricken community.

"This is an exciting asset for us, one that we really hope to share with Jasper, especially for this winter."

Hosted by Banff Sunshine, Mt. Norquay and Lake Louise Ski Resort, Community Ski Days offered discounted lift tickets while giving 100 per cent of the proceeds to the Jasper Fire Caring Community Fund.
