The Jasper Arena reopened on Sunday (Dec. 8), the main entrance and lobby to the Activity Centre will reopen next Monday (Dec. 18) and the Aquatic Centre will reopen on Boxing Day.

MultiSports Canada, which has hosted sporting events in Jasper since 2015, decided to rebrand its Pints and Pinot Run to bring awareness and support for the community following the summer wildfire.

During the wildfire-related delays to the recreation facility renovations and subsequent cleanup, the pool suffered damage to the basin coating while being pressure washed, causing a delay of two-to-three weeks.

Marmot Basin has received around 40 centimetres so far this season, and snowmaking began four days ago.

As part of Team Canada, Dez-Rohan Godfrey took home gold in taekwondo during the Mexico International Taekwondo Tournament 2024. He also earned silver in WAKO international kickboxing.

The wildfire temporarily halted work and necessitated additional cleaning, particularly in the Aquatic Centre. After remobilizing at the end of September, Carlson Construction resumed activities.
