Alberta Freestyle Skiing Association honours Marmot

Marmot Basin received an award from the Alberta Freestyle Skiing Association for its exceptional support of the sport, Sept. 26.

This is in recognition of your commitment to host freestyle skiing events, said Cam Jenkins, vice-president of the Alberta Freestyle Skiing Association.

Were very grateful for the support and the leadership that Marmot Basin has demonstrated to the sport of freestyle skiing over the years.

Jason Paterson, vice-president of operations for Marmot Basin, accepted the award on behalf of the company.

Its been a lot of fun working with the local club and the provincial association to grow the sport, said Paterson, in reference to the Jasper Freeride Ski Team.

We have a great working relationship and its really helped us build and improve our terrain park.

Marmot Basins anticipated opening day is Nov. 11.
