Marmot Basin received an award from the Alberta Freestyle Skiing Association for its exceptional support of the sport, Sept. 26.
鈥淭his is in recognition of your commitment to host freestyle skiing events,鈥� said Cam Jenkins, vice-president of the Alberta Freestyle Skiing Association.
鈥淲e鈥檙e very grateful for the support and the leadership that Marmot Basin has demonstrated to the sport of freestyle skiing over the years.鈥�
Jason Paterson, vice-president of operations for Marmot Basin, accepted the award on behalf of the company.
鈥淚t鈥檚 been a lot of fun working with the local club and the provincial association to grow the sport,鈥� said Paterson, in reference to the Jasper Freeride Ski Team.
鈥淲e have a great working relationship and it鈥檚 really helped us build and improve our terrain park.鈥�
Marmot Basin鈥檚 anticipated opening day is Nov. 11.
