Australian rapper Kid Mac has heard all about Western Canada.

His pals have been moving out to the Canadian Rockies for years to work and ride at the numerous ski hills in the area and since then theyve been pushing him to head this way to share his party beats with Canadas ski bums.

They keep saying, you gotta get over here, the crowd will love you.

So finally, hes making it happen.

In the next two weeks, Kid Mac, whos real name is Macario De Souza, is touring everywhere from Whistler to Banff, Golden, Revelstoke, Sun Peaks and Jasper in support of his second album Head Noise.

The album, which debuted at No. 2 on the Australian AIR Charts and No. 1 in the iTunes Electronic Charts, was released late last year.

De Souza said since then hes been on the road touring with his two-piece band and hes been loving every minute of it.

Its been six months with this record and I just really love playing it live. Its a party album, he said.

Bringing his music to Canada, and to the United States where he was touring last week, is a way for De Souza to open the world up to his music. So far, with his first and second album, hes had a lot of success at home, but now hes looking to expand that outside of his own country.

I just really want to try to plant the seeds in a few different markets outside of Australia and start a healthy little tour circuit in places where we can surf and snowboard, to match our lifestyle.

Im honoured and blessed to able to travel and try to get these new crowds and new markets happening.
