It was a weekend of rough and tumble hockey for the Jasper Bearcats, with three teams coming to town for a two-day penalty-packed tournament.

In their first game of the weekend, the Bearcats battled against the Barrhead Steelers, who ultimately took the game with a score of 3–2. In their second game of the day, the boys faced off against North East Zone Edmonton, losing by a score of 6–2.

And with that, the Bearcats were in the B Final on Sunday, facing off against the Peace River Stampeders who lost 6–0 against the Barrhead Steelers and 5–4 against North East Zone Edmonton.

The B Final was hard-fought, with both teams battling hard to redeem themselves for their earlier loses.

Trading shots and goal and time in the penalty box, the teams played a fast-paced game right to the finish, when the Bearcats goalie was pulled with a minute to play in the third period. The score was 2–1 for the Stampeders and that's how it would stay.
