Filled with 34 tabletop Christmas trees, the museum’s Showcase Gallery is glowing with holiday spirit.
The artificial trees have been decorated by community members, businesses and groups to raise funds for the Jasper-Yellowhead Museum and Archives and the Community Dinner Program.
The annual Festival of Trees fundraiser opened for bids Nov. 22 and will remain open until 3 p.m. on Dec. 14. The people with the winning bids will take the trees home, spreading the holiday cheer around town.
As well as raising funds for the museum and dinner program, there will also be collection boxes for the Jasper Food Bank and Santas Anonymous at the museum throughout the holiday season.
Dec. 7, the museum and Santas Anonymous will also team up for two hours of Christmas fun. From 10 a.m. until 12 noon, Santa Claus will be at the museum to decorate his very own tree. Kids and parents are invited to join him. Kids will receive a free gift and a photo with Santa.
