As the thermostat plummeted outside, St. Nick lounged in the comfort of the museum, Dec. 7, watching children scamper through the gallery, and occasionally posing for a picture.
The children were there to decorate a 鈥渃andy tree鈥� with the man in red. The tree will be auctioned off as part of the Jasper-Yellowhead Museum and Archives鈥� Festival of Trees.
The event, which served cookies and hot chocolate to the children, was organized by the museum and Santas Anonymous.
Santas Anonymous has been on a blitz the last couple of weeks, hosting numerous events, including the Santa Train, to raise money to help less fortunate families celebrate the holidays.
The local charity is nearly ready to pack it in for another season, with its annual packing dates for its food and gift hampers Dec. 18, 19 and 20 at the McCready Centre.
