Dear Editor,
After spending a large part of my recent winters in Banff, enjoying the fine skiing Canada has to offer, last year I decided to come north and try Jasper’s hospitality and skiing.
I’ve noticed a few differences between your two towns, some quaint and some downright backwards! While I do appreciate the folksy and down-home feel of Jasper (I am from Florida), I cannot help but notice the age of the buildings—residential and commercial. It seems to me that as a national park of Canada that you people should be setting the example for ‘’green living’’, surely those old buildings, history aside, could be updated to be more energy efficient!
The homes and businesses of Banff were quite obviously taking the ‘’green’’ ethos to heart—I am dismayed that your little town has not! Surely we can all afford the small costs to lessen our green footprint and ensure the park’s future health for future generations.
