On behalf of council and municipal staff, I am delighted to extend Christmas greetings to all of our residents and visitors.
Jasper is an active, engaged, inclusive community, enriched by our cultural diversity. Our residents and our visitors are representative of a global community which finds both inspiration and repose in our magnificent mountain environment.
Regardless of background or beliefs, this holiday season encourages all to embrace the closeness of family and friends, the comfort of community and the warmth of sharing. We are compelled to instill peace in our homes and in our hearts.
Whether skating at Mildred Lake, sliding down the slopes of Marmot Basin, gliding along our cross-country ski trails, snowshoeing, ice-walking or enjoying the outdoors or the community in any way, we have the luxury of counting our many blessings. Safe and secure in this protected valley, drawing strength from each other and able to offer support to those in need, we are perfectly positioned to selflessly share the spirit of giving, the beauty of our environment and the hospitality of our home.
To all residents, my Christmas wish is that you experience the joy and contentment of sharing and carry that with you throughout the year.
To all of our visitors, joining us throughout this festive season and into the New Year, my wish is that all of your holiday dreams come true in Jasper, that you take full opportunity to immerse yourselves in the warmth and hospitality of our community and that your memories provide endless pleasure.
From Jasper, Merry Christmas and best wishes to all.
Mayor Richard Ireland
