Most expensive destination in Canada

In terms of hotel prices, Jasper is the country’s most expensive destination this summer, according to a survey by CheapHotels.org.
The online booking company compared the cost of lodging in all of Canada’s destinations for the travel period of July 1 to Aug. 31.
The benchmark for the survey was the community’s cheapest available double room. In Jasper, the cheapest is $189, which is $12 more expensive than Tofino, B.C. and $15 more expensive than Niagara on the Lake, the second and third place destinations. Banff came in as the 10th most expensive destination, with $130 for its cheapest double room.
The survey only took into account hotels with a rating of two stars or higher, and it only looked at destinations with a minimum of 10 regular hotels.
Alberta had five communities on the list, as well as Jasper and Banff were Fort McMurray in sixth place ($145), Calgary in 11th place ($129) and Canmore in 14th place ($127).
The girls are back in town

Miss Quincy and the Showdown are coming back to Jasper to rock the Olive Bistro.
This all-girl rock ‘n’ roll band plays raunchy roots and blues style beats that never disappoint.
The group is currently making their way across Canada, bouncing from one festival to the next, after just recording Miss Quincy’s third record.
Check out the ladies July 29 to get a taste of their new tunes. The show starts at 8 p.m. and has a $5 cover.
