Jasper Municipal Library is hosting an information session for employers and temporary foreign workers Dec. 3.

The session, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Senior’s Lounge, is entitled Know Your Rights and Responsibilities: Temporary Foreign Worker Advisory Office Information Session.

There will also be one-on-one appointments available with an advisor. To book an appointment, call 780-644-3961 or email [email protected].

Flood relief donations

At the beginning of July, a group of Jasperites scattered donation cans around town for the Canadian Red Cross Alberta Flood Relief Fund. The cans were then picked up last month with a total of $1,319.50 inside.

The money has been rolled and sent off to Red Cross to help the communities in Southern Alberta that were hit by devastating floods last summer.

Slinging balls

Registration for the Canadian Rockies Snow Battle is closed, but the community is encouraged to head to Centennial Park this weekend to cheer on the snowball slinging players, as they compete for a chance to play in Japan.

All 13 teams will be competing Nov. 23 beginning at 10 a.m.

All aboard the Santa Train

For one day only, Santa Train tickets will be on sale at Buffalo Betty’s Gifts and More Than Mail.

Saturday, Nov. 23 the tickets will be available on a first come, first served basis beginning at 10 a.m.

The annual Santa Train is Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 9:30 a.m. and again at 3 p.m.

The event, organized by Santas Anonymous, takes kids on a VIA Rail train for carolling and a visit with Santa Claus.

Fun finds for families

The Friends of Jasper Childcare is holding its annual Family Bazaar Nov. 30.

The bazaar includes new and used maternity, baby and children’s clothing, as well as accessories and toys. There will also be a bake sale and silent auction.

It takes place at the McCready Centre from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
