Two young male cats with feline upper-respiratory disease were abandoned at the Jasper Elementary School on March 17. They are believed to be from the same mother that birthed the two kittens that were abandoned at the school in December.
Janet Jones of the Jasper Vet Clinic said that assumption is based on the fact that all four kittens had upper-respiratory disease and ear mites and they are all pointed cats with light coats and black fur on their faces, ears and tails.
The two cats found yesterday were taken to the vet for treatment and have since been taken to a temporary foster home. They will remain there until they are well and then the hope is to find them a permanent home.
Jones appealed to the owner of the cats, asking that they come forward and ask for assistance.
The vet clinic can help with this problem, she said. Unless you come forward, its only going to get worse.
Jones said there is funding available to help assist with spaying or neutering cats.
