Winterstruck 2014
Join Jasper National Park staff this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Pyramid Lake during Winterstruck 2014. Learn the art of fire starting, enjoy baking delicious bannock on a stick and gain new insights through tipi teachings. The Palisades Educational Centre team will again host the popular Then and Now: Snowshoeing activity, and participants can discover all about caribou and recent research on this incredible animal. Just look for the giant Parks Canada inflated beaver!

Winter Adventure Awareness Night
Join Parks Canada and Jasper Life at the Jasper Legion for an evening of snow safety awareness, winter recreation tips, wildlife information and great ideas on how to get the most out of your winter in Jasper National Park! Videos, avalanche awareness, wildlife chats, winter trails information and a whole lot more will be available to see and find out about. Presentations start at 7:30 p.m. Info tables are available from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. This activity is being offered in cooperation with Jasper Lifes Mountain Adventure program.

Street Party
Head down to Patricia Street between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. for a variety of activities, sights, sounds and tastes. Enjoy authentic aboriginal drumming, practise your animal forensic investigation skills, challenge yourself with some GPS fun and meet Parka the Parks Canada mascot. Parks staff will be set up near the Information Centre and will be looking forward to seeing you there.

Fire in the SkyAstronomy on the Island
Parks Canada is hosting a mini star party on Pyramid Island beginning at 8 p.m. Follow the candle lanterns to the island, where youll find park interpreters Leanne and Carmen telling stories beside a campfire with free hot chocolate. Leanne will be discussing the mysteries of nocturnal animals, while Carmen will share some drumming along with Aboriginal constellation stories. Keep following the trail of candle lanterns to the far end of the island to explore the stars using telescopes or binoculars with park interpreter BrianJaspers own guide to the stars.
