Parks Canada proved its baseball prowess beating the municipality for the second time this season in fall ball action, Sept. 29.

Parks Canada got out to a quick start and never relinquished the lead holding on for seven innings to win the game 16-8.
The action packed game had a little bit of everything, including homeruns, slides and even the odd dropped ball, to make for an entertaining game.
The baseball game is part of the municipalitys bid to promote healthy lifestyles for its employees.
The municipalitys wellness committee organized the game, which is a sub-committee of the municipalitys health and safety committee.
We believe there are six dimensions of wellness, and they are: emotional, intellectual, occupational, physical, social, and spiritual, wrote Sheila Rushton, an administrative assistance and program coordinator for the municipalitys operations department.
The committee meets several times each year and hosts various events, training sessions and seminars that promote the six dimensions of wellness for municipal employees as well as their families.
According to Rushton, past events include the 21-day happiness challenge, lunchtime yoga classes, staff appreciation barbeques and lunch and learns with guest speakers on topics ranging from mental health to customer service.
The committee also hosts how-to clinics such as golf, curling and mountain biking and regularly challenges Parks Canada in friendly sports games, commuter challenges and food bank drives.
In December, the municipality will challenge Parks Canada to a friendly hockey game, following the municipalitys Christmas party.
