The best slo-pitch team in the regular season proved to be the best team in the playoffs, as well, this year.
With a score of 20鈥�16, the Barley Kings, who had a regular season record of 23鈥�7鈥�2, bested the Hit Disturbers in the Jasper Mixed Slo-Pitch finals, Sunday, Aug. 25.
This year鈥檚 win was redemption for the team, who in 2012 lost to Balls Deep.
Following the game Sunday evening, Terry Neufield, the league manager and coach of Balls Deep, said it was tough handing the trophy off to another team this year.
鈥淲e have to get it back next year. We just have to,鈥� he said with a grin.
