Dear editor,
In your extensive coverage of Jasper’s Royal Canadian Legion last week (51 Feb. 23, 2017), there was not a word about the uncomfortable fact that there is a continued prohibition against me entering their premises.
Because I have reached different conclusions about the events of the Second World War, Ken Kuzminski has declared me persona non grata in a place which honours the veterans, who supposedly fought for our freedoms including, I thought, freedom of speech.
There are many taboo thoughts in our politically correct world. To be consistent, should not everyone be questioned at the door to ask them what their views are on any number of delicate subjects?
The prohibition of a long-time contributing community member for peaceful expression dims the glow of this “hub within the hub, a tangible lynchpin in the community” as described in your editorial.
