Dear Editor,

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the people who stopped to help extract myself, my wife and granddaughter from our truck. It was on its side and in the ditch 40 km east of Hinton on Dec 9.

The first people to stop and help dig my granddaughter out of the snow and get me out of the truck were Mike Ambrose and Mike Janeszko, as well as a crew from Husky Oil and a steel contractor who was also on the scene within minutes.

We’d also like to thank Dave and the volunteer fire fighters from Marlboro, who extracted my wife from the truck, and of course the paramedics who took us to Hinton Hospital and the RCMP who must have been very busy that evening. Also thanks to Dr. Sorenson and all the wonderful and caring staff at the hospital, and Bruce Reid a technician from Atco Gas who picked up our luggage and brought it all to Jasper.

Thank you, thank you to all the good samaritans who stopped and helped.

Merry Christmas and happy new year.

PS: We seem to have a multi-coloured sweater. To claim it, call 780-852-3885.
