Nestled in the tiny hamlet of Dunster, B.C., hundreds of people gathered for the 12th annual Robson Valley Music Festival, Aug. 12-14.

Music lovers from near and far descended on the festival for three-days of musical bliss as they got down and funky to all sorts of acts and genres—from beat-boxing guru Hachey the MouthPEACE to Columbia’s reggae group De Bruces A Mi.
Even after the music had stopped for the night, many musicians and other festival folk found themselves gathered around communal campfires, wailing on fiddles, banjos and mandolins until the first rays of sunshine started to peek over the mountains.
And in the rare moments that the music wasn’t flowing, folks had the opportunity to take part in a slew of workshops or take a refreshing dip in the Fraser River.
On Saturday night, organizers kept the party going into the wee hours of the morning with a burlesque and comedy show.
While festival season is quickly coming to a close, music lovers still have the Jasper Folk Music Festival to look forward to, Sept. 9-11.
Vancouver’s highly acclaimed Delhi 2 Dublin and Edmonton’s folk-rock trio Scenic Route to Alaska will headline this year’s event. Festival organizers have also secured vintage folk band Rosie & the Riveters from Saskatoon along with west coast Canadian roots artist WiL, and more than a dozen other artists, including several local acts.
