Highway 16 west of Jasper was closed for about five hours following an early morning rockslide, Oct. 8.

The slide happened just before 10 a.m. near the Dorothy Lake trailhead, about 12 kilometre west of town.

One lane was reopened around 2:30 p.m. to let traffic through on an alternating basis. Both lanes were reopened by the evening of Oct. 11, according to Parks Canada.

An SUV and a pick up truck were involved in a collision trying to avoid the slide, causing minor injuries to the occupants of the vehicles.
