Dear editor,
In reading the residential satisfaction survey for 2016, I noticed the degree of satisfaction with the community dinners. A high degree of satisfaction is understandable because the dinner is free.
Is the community dinner a missed opportunity to raise additional funds for the community groups providing the service that go to town council seeking funds? Rather than making it free, possibly charge $5 per meal and at the end of the season draw one of the service group’s name to give the proceeds to. This small amount would help provide additional funds to these community service groups.
