Dear editor,
In August of this year the town and county of Barrhead celebrated the 25th year of twinning with our friends from Kitami City/Tokoro Town, Hokkaido, Japan. As part of our anniversary celebration our guests asked to see the mountains of Alberta and especially see the town of Jasper as they had heard so much about the beauty of the area.
With a little help from the mayor and council members we were also very fortunate to tour the new Jasper Library and Culture Centre, your residents must be very proud of the facility and all that is offers to the community.
Thank you Jasper for your warmth and hospitality and making our guests from Japan feel welcome, I know when the opportunity comes up they will be back to visit you again soon.
