For the third year in a row, the high school band is hunting for Jasper’s most talented singers, musicians, dancers and entertainers to take the stage during the annual Jasper’s Got Talent competition.

Auditions for the event are Feb. 1 and can be done by YouTube video submission or by arranging a personal audition. Videos and audition requests can be sent to [email protected]. All ages and talents are welcome—the first year there was even a clown!

The talent show, which will take place Feb. 11 at the Jasper Activity Centre, is a major fundraiser for the Jasper Junior/Senior High School Band. Following the first year’s success, with about 20 acts taking the stage to compete, it has quickly become a staple event in the community, often with standing room only on the night of the performance.

Like previous years, alongside the show, there will be a silent auction taking place with donated items from local businesses.

The funds raised during the 2014 competition will go toward a band trip, as well as new instruments and digital sound equipment.

For those who would rather spectate than take the stage, tickets for the event are $10 for adults and $5 for students. As an added bonus this year, the band students have a special offer called “Two for $20,” where you can buy your talent show ticket, as well as your turkey dinner ticket for March 13, at a savings of $5.

Tickets are available at Buffalo Betty’s Gifts, More Than Mail and Tekarra Color Lab, as well as through band students.
