Hinton RCMP arrested five people on July 29 and 30 in relation to a two-week long drug trafficking investigation.

During the investigation, police seized 56 grams of methamphetamine, 44 grams of cocaine and 0.5 grams of fentanyl.

Four individuals have been charged and were held in police custody.

Edson General Investigation Section, RCMP Police Dog Services and Grande Prairie ALERT also assisted in the arrest.

Jerod Lee Rudrum, 40, of Hinton is facing charges for trafficking fentanyl and trafficking methamphetamine. He has been released from custody.

Angel Louise Poiron, 42, of Hinton is facing charges for trafficking methamphetamine and possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine.

John Greene, 40, of Hinton is facing charges for trafficking methamphetamine and trafficking cocaine.

Kirk Bennett, 37, of Hinton is facing the following charges:

  • Trafficking Methamphetamine
  • Trafficking cocaine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine
  • Possession of property obtained by crime (money)
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon

Rudrum and Poiron are scheduled to appear for court in Hinton on Sept. 1, while Greene and Bennett are scheduled to appear on Aug. 18.

Charges are also pending against a 27-year-old female of Hinton, whose name may be released later after further investigation.
