Hinton RCMP investigate complaint of stolen vehicle

On July 10, 2023, at 3:30 p.m., Hinton RCMP received a call from a complainant that witnessed her vehicle being stolen out of her driveway in Hinton. Members responded immediately and were able to track the vehicle using GPS.

On July 10, 2023, at 3:30 p.m., Hinton RCMP received a call from a complainant that witnessed her vehicle being stolen out of her driveway in Hinton.

Members responded immediately and were able to track the vehicle using GPS. The vehicle was located and the male driver was taken into custody.

Further Investigation revealed that the man broke into four other vehicles and stole items from them.

As a result of the investigation, Clinton Frank Hunt (34), a resident of Hinton, was charged with a number of offences including:

  • Possession of stolen property over $5000
  • Driving while unauthorized
  • Mischief under $5000

Hunt was brought before a Justice of the Peace and released from custody with his next court appearance date set for August 2, 2023, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Hinton.
