On Jan. 8, 2024, Hinton RCMP received a report of a stolen Honda CRV from a residence near Mountain Street and Hansen Drive.

The vehicle is a 2023 Grey Honda CRV with Alberta license plate CPL 2814. The vehicle was left unattended while warming up in the owner’s driveway and was stolen at approximately 9:45 a.m. Later that day, police were informed that the vehicle had been spotted in a remote area south of Hinton. The vehicle had departed upon police arrival.

At the time of the theft, the vehicle was in overall good condition and was described as a Honda CRV with the sport trim package with black detailing and black rims.

In light of this theft, Alberta RCMP would like to remind the public of Operation Cold Start. This is a good reminder that opportunistic thieves will take any occasion to steal a vehicle that is left idling and unattended. Please make sure to never leave your car running unattended.

If anyone has information regarding this vehicle, they are asked to contact the Hinton RCMP detachment at 780-865-2455 or their local police service. If you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), online at .com or by using the “P3 Tips” app.
