A middle school teacher in Edson, who was previously charged with sexual interference and luring a child, is facing additional charges after three victims were identified, RCMP say.
On Jan. 26, Edson RCMP said that Brian Leroy Davison, a 50-year-old resident of Fort Assiniboine, is facing three counts of sexual exploitation and three counts of sexual assault.
Davison was previously charged Dec. 7 with sexual interference, making sexually explicit material available to a child and luring a child.
Davison is a teacher at Edson’s Ecole Pine Grove School in the Grande Yellowhead Public Schools Division, according to an RCMP release sent on Dec. 8.
In a Dec. 8 statement, the district said it had been advised of sensitive allegations involving a teacher at the school.
The division said the teacher was placed on leave and is no longer at the school as of Nov. 25.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and any other victims are encouraged to come forward.
Davison has been taken before a justice of the peace and released from custody.
His next court appearances are set for Feb. 7 at Edson Provincial Court and Feb. 14 at Barrhead Provincial Court.
