Each act played two songs; some performing originals and others performing covers, while others did a mixture of both. At the end, a few even returned for encore performances, much to the audience’s delight.
Some Irish Pirates closed the show and celebrated their victory by playing a short set. Members of the folk festival committee were ecstatic over the evening’s success and the number of the Jasperites who supported the event, said emcee Matt Cushing. That includes anyone who helped organize the event, donated silent auction items, or attended the show.
The Jasper Folk Music Festival is Sept. 13-15. To volunteer, attend one of the festival committee’s meetings, which take place every third Thursday at the Legion at 7 p.m.
