With a stunning array of trees, wreaths and baskets full of gifts available for everyone on your holiday list, the Festival of Trees is underway at the Jasper Yellowhead Museum & Archives.

The 22nd annual silent auction fundraiser is running from Nov. 18 - Dec. 11, with all proceeds from the event going to the museum.

This is the biggest fundraiser of the year (for the museum), the one we really look forward to, and people from the community really look forward to it as well, said Rob Hubick, manager of the local museum.

The funds the JYMA receives from the event will be used for general operations, repairs and maintenance, programming and exhibits at the local non-profit.

Whether shopping for yourself or someone else, there is something for everyone, from the foodie to the wine connoisseur, to the craft beer lover, to those seeking travel or adventure.

While bids are only being accepted online for the silent auction, bidders are encouraged to stop by the JYMA in person to see the incredible display of goodies up for grabs.

For those unable to stop by in person, all of the gifts are available to be viewed and bid on from the comfort of your home at .

The fundraiser is very well supported by the community, explained Hubick, with all of the gifts up for auction being donated by businesses, non-profit organizations and individuals in Jasper.

And while supporting the museum through their Festival of Trees fundraiser will give you a warm feeling in your heart, if you are lucky enough to have the winning bid on an item, each of them hold great monetary value as well, so its a win-win situation.

As part of the fun, the museum is hosting a Come-and-Go Wine and Cheese night on Dec. 9, which will begin at 7 p.m. and end whenever Hubick decides to kick everyone out.

Those partaking in the evening will enjoy wines and cheeses, as well as appetizers provided by Janice Yeoman and Wayne Kennedy.

If it wasnt for the community supporting us, this wouldnt be happening, and we couldnt be grateful enough, Hubick said.

JYMA will be kicking off their 2023 fundraising season next month during Jasper in January with the always popular, Whiskey, Wine and Hops at Forest Park Hotel.
