The wildfire temporarily halted work and necessitated additional cleaning, particularly in the Aquatic Centre. After remobilizing at the end of September, Carlson Construction resumed activities.

Interim housing will be located at the northeast end of town, along Connaught Drive adjacent to the future RCMP detachment and on a site called 2B just south of Highway 16.

The Jasper Recovery Coordination Centre is working with the Insurance Bureau of Canada to get more information out to the public about debris removal.

"By enabling the transfer of planning and development authorities to the municipality, it will make it possible to give the town of Jasper and businesses and residents more say to shape the future of the town."

For phase one of the rebuild, leaseholders are asked to talk with their insurer and think about what they would like to build and what they have scope to build.

Renovations are expected to wrap up by May long weekend.

New apartments in Jasper will have to wait half a year more before the development can progress.

Work on the $38.2 million caribou conservation breeding centre continues with an estimate that the project is now at approximately 40 per cent completion.
