Jasper rink bags some bears

The Jasper Curling Club turned into party central last weekend as it hosted its annual women’s bonspiel. The tournament is one of the most popular in the region, and this year 23 teams came out to take part in the weekend-long event.

Bearcats one game from championship win

For several of the young men on our Midget squad, this weekend was their last minor hockey road trip, following careers that span up to 14 years in length. Needless to say, the players wanted to make it count, and they did not disappoint.

Atom Bears end on strong note

Last Saturday the playoffs ended for the Jasper Atom Bears. The number one Fox Creek Bulldogs rolled into town with a six-point advantage in the two game, total goals, home and away series.

The Jasper Atom Bears travelled to Fox Creek last Sunday to take on the Bulldogs in the first game of the home-and-away series in this second round of the playoffs.

Last Saturday, the Midget Bearcats played host to Whitecourt for the first game of the playoffs. The arena was back in action with fresh paint, clean plexi glass and keen hockey players ready to put skates to the ice.
