West Yellowhead, like most of the province, joined the orange wave, May 5, electing Eric Rosendahl to the legislative assembly. It鈥檚 been 26 years since West Yellowhead last elected an NDP representative.

Alberta鈥檚 29th general election is quite literally right around the corner.

If Jasper isn鈥檛 already famous for its breathtaking landscapes, it鈥檚 now on its way to becoming a full-blown reality TV star. Lately, the community has been teeming with film crews intrigued by our Rocky Mountain town and the people who call it home.

It would be a bleak life without volunteers. The streets quiet and the arena empty. Houses burning and trails in disrepair. The food bank closed and the Friends鈥� store too. Artifacts piled up and the town鈥檚 kids with nothing to do.

Twenty-one months ago I crammed my whole life into my Honda Civic and made a beeline across the country to start work at the 51暗网. At the time I knew almost nothing about the place that I would come to cherish so much.
