The Jasper Transit Open House will take place Thursday, April 18 at the Jasper Activity Centre from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Hall and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Arena Lobby.

Jasper Municipal Council approved Tuesday in principle a loan up to $150,000 to backstop the fundraising shortfall for the new skatepark.

The four new Level-3 stations would be in the off-street parking lot adjacent to the public washrooms on Connaught Drive through a licence of occupation for a term of up to 14 years.

The Municipality of Jasper is increasing the sidewalk seating fee for the use of the parking lane to $1,850 per stall in 2024 and $2,050 per stall in 2025.

Administration will return to council to get final approval for construction after receiving the proposals from potential builders.

This will increase the rates from $3.50 to $4.50 per hour for on-street parking, and $2.50 to $3.50 per hour for off-street parking. Daily rates for parking lots will also go up from $15 to $17.
