“It’s grown already, considering three years ago I think a few handfuls of people showed up and were a part of pride weekend,” said Jörg Michel, spokesperson for OUT Jasper.

“I literally got off the train and didn’t know anybody,” Bielec recalled. “The year I moved here, we had an amazing group of individuals that I was part of at the ski hill. Nobody had any money.

“It is not uncommon for young moms to work two to three jobs,” said Dolan. Having to work so many service jobs to make ends meet creates a situation where there is little free time for home and family.

You can submit your poems at the library until April 20. All entries are limited to one page, with a limit of three entries per person.
