This past weekend saw Jasper Ski Team racers in the U14 (ages 12-13) group racing against their peers in the Alberta Winter Games time trials at Rabbit Hill outside of Edmonton. This qualifying race was for Zones 5 and 6 in Alberta.

The Jasper Freeride freestyle ski team is gearing up for a weekend of competition at Marmot Basin, where it will host the Alberta Winter Games Qualifier for the north zone, as well as a club competition.

This past weekend, the Jasper Atom Bears hosted teams from Beaumont, Hinton, Whitecourt, Grande Cache and Grande Prairie in their annual Hockey in the Rockies tournament.

Dear Editor, No to a hotel!! We were at Maligne Lake two springs ago. We saw harlequin ducks, eagles and swallows in the river leading from the lake. The harlequin in particular need fast moving mountain streams to breed and raise their young.
