Two residents were arrested and charged for impaired driving less than 24 hours apart, according to the Jasper RCMP. During the early hours of April 6, police stopped a vehicle on Connaught Drive and conducted a sobriety check with the driver.

Forget the commercial space cap, Jasper is quickly racing toward its marathon cap. The 2017 Jasper Half Marathon drew 845 runners to the mountain town on April 8, about 20 per cent more than last year.

None of the harlequin ducks from the McLeod nesting site went to the same place for the winter. Data obtained from the satellite trackers showed the birds were found all the way along the Pacific coast from Sechelt to Alaska.

For some high-caliber athletes it’s all about getting to the next level, but for others, like Alison Brown, having fun is more important than results.

The Jasper Park Chamber of Commerce would prefer to negotiate a new cost-sharing agreement between the municipality and both levels of government instead of new taxes.
